STAVROS NIARCHOS FOUNDATION (B)

Enjoy your morning visit to Julia and Alexander N. Diomedes Botanic Garden. In the afternoon, visit Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre with a private guided tour. This remarkable cultural complex is a state-of-the-art facility that houses the Greek National Opera and the National Library of Greece.

DAY 4 SAT 15 MAY

ATHENS TO HYDRA (B/D)

Today, take a day trip to Hydra by ferry, with time to explore the picturesque waterfront, elegant stone mansion museums and colourful cobbled squares. Ferry back to the mainland to meet your coach for the journey to Nafplio on the Peloponnese Peninsula.

DAY 5 SUN 16 MAY

EPIDAURUS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE (B/D)

Explore Nafplio this morning, with first stop the Palamidi Fortress, dominating the city, with views of the entire eastern Peloponnese. Next stop is Epidaurus, an archaeological treasure. We then reach our destination in Gythio, our base to further explore the Peloponnese.

MONEMVASIA (B)

Your day trip to Monemvasia takes you to a spectacular medieval fortress town clinging to a rock off the Mediterranean coast. A local guide will help us explore this stone-built settlement, nestled at the edge of the giant citadel.

DAY 7 TUE 18 MAY

MANI PENINSULA (B/L)

You will discover the Mani Peninsula today, the southern tip of the Peloponnese. First we visit Patrick Leigh Fermor’s house in Kardamyli, one of Greece’s most stunning homes. Then the beautiful Mediterranean garden of Katerina Georgi and finally the ancient flooded Caves of Diros.

MYCENAE (B/L)

Today travel back to Athens via the UNESCO archaeological site of Mycenae, once the mighty heart of a civilisation thought to be myth - until Schliemann’s 1870s excavations proved otherwise. You’ll explore its UNESCO-listed ruins and museum, rich with artefacts from Greece’s legendary Mycenaean age.
