In Tenom, Sabah Agricultural Park is a conservation centre, educational hub and paradise for plant lovers. Explore the 21 gardens including the Native Orchid Collection, Crop Museum and Ornamental Garden, all showcasing Borneo’s diverse flora and agricultural practices. Dinner included tonight.

Kundasang War Memorial  (B/L/D)

Travel from Keningau to the Kundasang War Memorial and its beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance, set up in honour of the Australian and British prisoners of war who died during the death marches from Sandakan to Ranau in WW2. Check into Kinabalu Pine Resort for the next three nights, renowned for its breathtaking views of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Malaysia.

Visit Kinabalu Park, a UNESCO World Heritage hot spot of plant biodiversity and stunning landscapes. Then the bustling Kundasang Market, where locals sell their produce & crafts. Dinner at our hotel tonight.

Poring Rainforest (B/L/D)

To Poring this morning to explore the Lowland Dipterocarp Forest, a lush, tropical rainforest and home to an incredible diversity of plant and animal species. Then we are on the hunt to find a Rafflesia in flower. The Rafflesia is a rare and fascinating plant known for its enormous size and unique lifecycle.

Kinabatangan River (B/L/D)

Travel to the coastal city of Sandakan today with a boat cruise on the Kinabatangan River, one of the most biodiverse areas in Sabah, offering a unique opportunity to spot a wide variety of wildlife. Check into our lodge on the river with dinner included tonight. Evening wildlife cruise on the river.

Gomontong Caves (B/L/D)

Dawn and dusk cruises are our treats today as we explore more of the Kinabatangan River. Watch for hornbills, proboscis monkeys, orang-utans and pygmy elephants. Next Gomantong Caves, famous for their limestone formations, located within a protected forest reserve.

Abai Village (B/L/D)

Travel by boat to Abai Village and participate in reforestation by planting trees with the local people. Dinner included then an evening river cruise and guided night walk along the nature boardwalk, exploring the nocturnal wildlife.

Sandakan Memorial Park (B/L/D)

Morning cruise to spot wildlife at Pitas Lake, then cruise back to Sandakan and Buli Sim Sim Water Village, a local community living on stilt houses. St Michael’s and All Angels Church (1893) is next, famous for its stained-glass windows. Then the restored historic house of American author Agnes Keith. We remember the 2400 Australian and British POW’s who lost their lives during WW2 at the beautifully landscaped Sandakan Memorial Park.

Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre (B/L/D)

At the world famous Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary, you’ll have the chance to meet orphaned orangutans in their natural habitat. Then see rescued sun bears at the wonderful Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre, dedicated to the protection and conservation of the world’s smallest bear species. Afternoon flight to Kota Kinabalu. Farewell Dinner included tonight.
