Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden

Morning visit to Table Mountain with panoramic views from the revolving cable car. Next stop is Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden - home to over 8,000 plant species, many found nowhere else on earth. Welcome Dinner this evening.

DAY 3 | SAT 19 SEP (B/L)

Cape of Good Hope

Take Chapman’s Peak Drive to Cape Point Reserve, a mecca for wildflowers. Ride the funicular for sweeping views of False Bay. Photo stop at the Cape of Good Hope, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet.

DAY 4 | SUN 20 SEP (B/L)

Stellenbosch

A day in the Cape Winelands and historic Stellenbosch founded in 1679. First stop is the iconic Old Nectar Gardens, once home to Ina van der Spuy, beloved doyenne of South African gardening. Lunch stop in Vergelegen Estate’s fine garden. Return to Cape Town.

Postberg Flower Reserve

We’re travelling into West Coast National Park to Postberg Flower Reserve, in full flower this time of year with spectacular carpets of wildflowers. Our destination is the historic Saldanha Bay via Paternoster.

DAY 6 | TUE 22 SEP (B/D)

Franschhoek

Lots of interesting stops today as we travel to Franschhoek. More wildflowers, Duckitt’s Orchids, canola and wheat fields, sheep and cattle farms, olive groves, and vineyards.

Check-in to our hotel in Franschhoek for the next two nights.

DAY 7 | WED 23 SEP (B/D)

Babylonstoren Estate

Spend this day at Babylonstoren Estate, founded in 1692 as a wine and wheat farm, Babylonstoren was skilfully restored in 2007, opening in 2010 into a unique destination with magnificent fruit and vegetable gardens at its core.

Karoo Botanical Garden

First stop this morning is Worcester’s Karoo Botanical Garden, a showcase of the semiarid flora. Lunch today at Van Loveren Wine Estate then a riverboat cruise along the Breede River. Travel on to Montagu.

DAY 9 | FRI 25 SEP (B)

Garden Route

We are travelling the Garden Route to Knysna via Swellendam. Coffee stop at Wildebraam Berry Estate. Lunch stop at Fancourt Country Club Estate in George (own expense). Arrive in Knysna Quays and check-in to our hotel on the lagoon.

DAY 10 | SAT 26 SEP (B/L)

Knysna Lagoon

A ferry across Knysna Lagoon to Featherbed Nature Reserve. Then a drive to the summit of Knysna Headland with panoramic views. Learn about indigenous plants and vibrant fynbos. Travel on to George for overnight accommodation.

DAY 11 | SUN 27 SEP (B/D)

Zambezi River Cruise

Morning flight to Victoria Falls. Check into the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, designed to blend with the African wilderness. Sunset cruise along the mighty Zambezi River. Dinner at our lodge tonight.

Victoria Falls

The world’s greatest sheet of falling water is a majestic sight. Feel its power as the Zambezi River plunges into a chasm on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Experience a guided tour through the lush mist-shrouded rainforest.

Pilanesberg National Park

Morning flight to Johannesburg, then transfer to our lodge, nestled within the renowned Pilanesberg National Park - home to the big five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo & rhinoceros. This unique lodge lies in a natural amphitheatre surrounded by mountains and immersed in riverine woodlands.

Pilanesberg Game Reserve

Cameras ready as you absorb the atmosphere of the African bushveld on an early morning game drive. Time to relax in the lodge before an afternoon safari.
